Advertisements in newspapers strikes everyone but limited to those who read that particular paper that day you have your advertisement and actually read the ad not only the comics or articles.
An article on your own web site will stay there as long you like – for free - and get targeted visitors that might turn into customers.
You do the work once and....
Bad Grammar = NO Excuse for not writing
English is not my native language and it is a long time since I left school.
But this do not prevent me from trying to write articles about things I
know can be helpful to others.
I have not gotten any complaints so far but I know others have.
Off course right spelling and grammar is important but........... I guess if you have something to say that people find useful they do try to understand rather than to pick on your errors.
- you do not learn to swim properly if you do not at least try.
To buy high traffic - high page rank web sites or not
Is it realy worth it?
e.g.:
You buy a web site and domain with a Google page rank 8/10
1.400.000 visitors each month
Lots of backlinks
50 pages of high quality content.
- maybe you have to pay 4.000 dollar
Might be very rewarding
if you can use them right away without changing anything else than the contact info.
OR
You have a web site filled with valuable content ready to launch
You have optimized it for the search engines,
and you run a similar or related business as the former owner
You target the same customers.
The copyright laws is very strong. Make sure you contact a lawyer if you intend to use the site as it is.
The former web site owner might be nice and honest but there is many things you need to know before you use other peoples text/img.
- Have she/he made absolutely everything on the page
by herself/himself - or have anyone contributed to make page
design elements, photo, text..... they might not have transfered
all the copyrights to the former owner - and now they might want
to get paid. (or at a later point if your site turns out to be a success)
If someone say to you that you might use their work at your web site, you only have gotten a permission to show it on your pages. You did probably not get the right to alter it, print it on CD, make a book or sell it.
Might be a waste of money if:
- You have a web site containing of nothing much other than
links and banners to money making programs you have joined.
- You target a totally different "kind" of visitors.
You upload your pages to your "new" domain.
When sites linking to the "old webmaster/web site" understands
that you do not have the same content - they might want to remove
the link they have to your web site. On the next round - your web site
will loose page rank.
Next time the search engines visit your "new" domain it
evaluates Your content, Your traffic, Backlinks and so on and if you do not have the same quality on text/content and linking as the
former web site owner had your page rank will drop.
You "loose" your money - and have no on else to blame than yourself and your own high hope to make quick money without any work.
